I have a '52 8N with a Wagner FEL. I need to replace the fan belt, because the existing belt is stretched, and I can't adjust the generator any more, and the squealing is getting a little annoying.

I have the crank-mounted pump on the front of the tractor, and I'm not sure how to remove the driveshaft to get the belt off and on.

Pictures near the bottom of this page: http://www.kevindsingleton.com/tractor/tractor.html.

I'd sure appreciate if someone could take a look, and let me know how to disconnect the pump driveshaft.

I don't have a loader on my 8N... so I don't know for sure, but...

I BELIEVE that you remove the 4 (well, at least I believe that there are supposed to be 4) bolts that hold the 'stinger' plate onto the crankshaft pulley...
Thanks, Steve. From what I can see, there aren't four bolts attaching the stinger to the crankshaft pulley. Unless they're flathead screws. I'm thinking it's the screw-in type, but I can't really tell.

My pump I had on my N had a flange that bolted onto the crank pulley, and the shaft was splined into that. The shaft may just pull out if you unbolt the pump.

Wether that will give you room to pull out he belt.... who knows, but that shaft will just pull out of the flange.
