What city, and state, do you live in?
Clifton Park, NY

Are you married?
Yes

What is your wife's name and how many years you've been married?

Ellen and we just celebrated our 41st anniversary.

Do you have any children?

Yes, We are lucky to have two great kids. Amanda and Nick.

What do you do to earn a living?

Happily retired police sergeant.

How old are you?

I'm 66, but only 50 in my mind.

Military service?

US Army, Vietnam, 1968.

How did you come to join MTF?

I was doing research for a new tractor purchase. I found MTF through Google. There were many helpful posts which enabled me to make an informed decision. After that I just got caught up in the friendly conversations.

What are your favorite forums and why?

I check New Posts twice a day and tend to post in the Kubota forum and a few others.

What do you like most about MTF?

Without question, the friendly folks on MTF make it what it is; a great place to spend some time. Thanks go out to the mods, who help keep it that way.

Please list your tractors and/or equipment:

My Kubota BX1860 is currently my only tractor but
I have had a Craftsman and two Troy Bilts. I also inherited an old Montgomery Ward RER from my father, which I kept until about ten years ago.

What is your favorite tractor or piece of equipment and why?

The BX is certainly the best tractor I've ever owned because I can do so much with it. I like being able to use it year around without having to spend hours changing it over for the seasons.

Tell us some of the tasks you use your tractors and/or equipment for?

I use it for mowing, moving dirt, mulch, stone, wood, snow blowing and for towing the lawn vac during leaf season.

Could you describe your property for us?

I have 1.7 acres with lots of trees in a suburban environment.

Is there something you'd love to build or restore someday?

I wish I had the talent, but I enjoy seeing what others have done here on MTF.

Most memorable tractor moment?

My first solo tractor ride when I was ten years old. I never forgot how my Dad let me drive it. I have never been without a tractor since.

Earliest tractor memories?

My Dad bought the RER in the 50's. I wish I still had it.

What got you started on your interest in mechanical things?

Definitely my father. He was a tinkerer and he knew how to do many things. I watched and learned.

Who influenced you?

My Dad.

Do you have any other hobbies or interests that you'd like to share with us?

I enjoy fishing, mostly for largemouth and smallmouth bass. Last year I got back into model railroading in HO scale.

What do the other people in your life think of your "tractor" hobby?

My wife understands how much tractors save time, not to mention your life. When I was considering buying the Kubota, she was very supportive, even though I already had two perfectly good tractors (I did agree to sell the other two ).

One reason why I bought the BX. I needed the FEL. This tractor does everything.

Good to go in snow

The Troy Bilt was good but the blower was a pain to attach.

The DYT 4000 was an excellent tractor but I didn't need two mowers so it had to go.

I'm honored, and would like to thank the moderators and admin for selecting me this month. As I have said in the past, the friendly, helpful people on MTF make it what it is, a great forum, and the mods do an excellent job keeping it that way.

I'll be looking forward to receiving those goodies, so thanks again. :)

Thank you all for the compliments. I have a large aluminum Fold-It cart that I fill up with weeds and twigs at least 5 times a week. If I could eat that stuff I'd never have to buy groceries again. :ROF
