i found a 9n, with aluminum steering column, at a farmers house near my cousins.
i stopped by and made a offer for $200.
the lady said she needed to talk to her mother. she she she would sell it.
i gave her my phone number. this was about 2 weeks i hadn't heard anything.
i'm assuming they either lost my number or they didn't like my offer?

what would you guys figure fair price would be for a 9n for parts?
it's not running, hasn't been run in a while.
i'm willing to pay fair price, i just want to get some parts for my self and maybe sell off what i don't need to get my money back.
i have never parted out a tractor, i'm not sure what the market is on used parts.

The markets not very good on selling parts off tractors IMO. Price of scrap is high and they can get more then $200 at the scrap yard. Tractor parts have to be in decent shape and all the same things go wrong or rot out on these old N's. There's a ton of guys parting tractors and everybody else is ten cents cheaper then you. If you have all the parts on a shelf your better off because some guys won't wait for you to pull parts.

my experience with parting out tractors is that when you NEED the part there are none available and the price is crazy high. when your SELLING the part everybody and their brother have 2 for sale cheaper than yours.

Thats why I wind up rebuilding all my "parts" tractors.

i parted out vehicles before, i have a pretty go idea on what sells and what doesn't.

i'm figureing these tractors are still fairly common, and new parts are not very expensive.
i would like to have the tractor, i thought maybe she didn't call me because she was insulted by my offer?

i put up a ad on CL locally to find parts tractors.
i had some guy contacte me for a 8n for $950....for parts!
seemed rediclious, i have seen running ones for that price.

There are other things to consider...Tires..Sherman trans..etc...
