When I installed a Vanguard on my Gravely rider I need the muffler on the flywheel side of the engine. I cut the exhaust flanges off the muffler that came with the engine, then welded on a short piece of 3/4" threaded pipe. Then using a couple of elbows and threaded pipe and 3/4" to 1" adapters, installed a pair of "pepper pot" mufflers. If you don't have a muffler at all, you can find the flanges on ebay
Exhaust for Vanguard 16hp
Anyone know how to find the right part number for a muffler on a Briggs Vanguard 16 hp engine? Looking at the Vanguard parts manual for the engine it lists multiple mufflers and even has an exhaust 1 and exhaust 2 section. Can't seem to find anywhere how to tell if my engine is 1 or 2.
