Hi guys, i just rebuilt a blade 46" and put it on my GT18 sears.
I have a electric lift Model 917242440. I would like to put this on the front of the tractor to lift the plow. Questions
1. Any body have pic of this that they have done?
2. If i do this, what do i have to do about battery and charging?
It will be used a lot when i use it for snow removal.
I attached pic. of the blade. Thank you

Your electric lift is a 3pt hitch that goes on the back for other implements. It cant be used on a front blade.

I did some welding and rearranging on an old sears blade.. and used a small actuator on it. it didn't take long before i removed it and put the lift handle back.

Speaking from my own experience, it was painfully slow, and the constant use was more that the alternator could keep up with.. so it ended up seriously pulling the battery down.

Just my $.02.

If it requires cutting/welding the electric 3-point hitch, I would personally not hurt it in any way... those things have some value... it would be better to sell it and use the money to create a custom lift for the front.... Just my 0.04 cents (sorry dave) :trink39:

Leave the stock lift the way it is, its simple, quick and efficient. Dont mess with a design that works

Ok i bought this kit lift at a swap meet so i only have $35.00 in it.
My idea was to build my own brackets so i could just move the lift from the back to the front. I have carpel tunnel in both hands so it hard to use a manual blade. I could sell the tractor. I only paid $100.00 for the tractor , blade, wheel weights, and chains, and it runs great. Right now i am using a WH-D160 but its getting a little rough. Paul

You could remove the actuator and wiring from the hitch and just put a harness for it in the front grill where the headlight wiring goes.

There have been a few good plow mount threads on here, by Tahoe99 and Dmorrill22 check those out
