I'm trying to find out if the cc rating on power heads really matter. I'm thinking about purchasing an Echo pole saw or combo power head with a pole saw attachment. The only question I have is if there's enough power in the 22.8cc head to do the job. What do y'all think?

cc is cubic centimeters... its just a measure of size... doesnt have anything to do with power. back in the 30's, a 9 liter V12 engine in a rolls royce only produced 100hp (about) nowadays, formula 1 racecars have honda V6's that produce 650hp. size doesnt equal power

Yes and no. Usually if the attachment is made to fit on the powerhead it should have adequate power to run it. But, there's no replacement for displacement, you're not going to be able to run a 36" bar and chain on a 30cc chainsaw.

Japanese engines tend to create alot more power per cc than others. The Echo power unit will do just fine.
