Sorry, I can't seem to find the proper Forum. A friend is bringing me a 48" residential line Dixie Chopper which has a none working left side Hydro Gear self contained transaxle. Is there some common internal problem that might be the first thing to check? Are these generally serviceable? I will have the Hydro Gear numbers in a few days.

Thanks,

Walt Conner

From what I've read, even the "non-serviceable" hydros are serviceable to some extent.

Well I lucked out. As I said, a friend was bringing the unit. Turned out the small lever extension on the bottom of the large control lever was broken and was not operating the Hydro so welded it and back in business.
