Im gonna go with no not factory, all the plows I ever saw were bolted on. All the parts lists I have seen show bolt ons also.
That's the way all of mine are. If they were welded you would not be able to add the weight to them.

I have 4 that are all bolted, and every other one I've seen was bolted too. Ed

I think Tahoe is correct. I believe that at the very end, Gravely welded the snow blades. Not the best solution but likely cheaper than having new castings made.

How do you add weight to them? I have thought about welding something up to add more weight, but then I would need to fabricate something else to hold the blade off the ground with the extra weight on it. I would be very interested in seeing a factory solution to this.

The weight got bolted between the blade and the mounting plates or mounting casting. There is no reason why you could not drill holes in the upper part of the blade and bolt weights to it. That is what my father did when he needed more weight.

I remember two optional skids mounted to the blade that would rub the ground so that the blade edge would not contact the ground. This is mentioned in the model "L" and C-10 users manuals but I could not find any pictures.

The older blades were drilled with 4 bolt holes and you could add the smaller "4 bolt weight". The newer blades were drilled with 12 holes, 4 bolts for the plow mount, 4 extra for the larger "8 bolt cross weight" and 4 holes for skids. The skids are the same as the skids mounted on the MA-2xx snow blowers.

Here's a picture of a 12 hole plow without a weight or skids on it.
