They are the same motors, the crank might be a different size but highly doubt it.
A k482 is a k482 don't matter what application that it is connected to. Peripherals may be different i.e drive line setup, throttle, choke may be on opposite side of carb etc...
The exhaust manifold may be pointed the wrong way but I dont know much about WH.
i've seen that their engines are installed backwards compared to bolens. i'm wondering if an k482 from a wheel horse would be a drop in for my engine? i just don't have the coin to put a newer engine in there.
It should work, are you putting it in the 1886?
yes sorry i forgot to mention that. putting this into my 1886.
What is wrong with your motor now? This should fit right in, if the manifold is backwards then you can always make a heat shield for your foot, because you will never be able to take the manifold off without snapping the bolts. You always have your motor if you need to switch parts like the carb, etc.

I have bought and sold a lot of K series twins and the things that I have found different with the Bolens application is the crank diameter which is 1 1/8 and 2 3/4 long. Not all engines are the same. Another thing you have to look for is the flywheel, not all flywheels are recessed to accept the PTO stub shaft that bolens has. All the engines had the same carburetor. All the manifolds I was able to change but used the torch to heat around the base of the studs.
