Now I did it the way MXZRXP did with the 2 pcs one shorter than the other..I dont understand the purpose of the short pc ?? Now the belting is mounted on the paddle facing you when it rotates out of the housing BUT the short pc is on top of the long pc so when the long pc comes into contact with the housing it is being pushed AWAY from the short pc so really the short pc is doing nothing..

Now if the short pc was UNDER the long pc it would then act as a stiffner...What am I missing here..And that JD blower paddle is like 1/4" thick !!!! Man it took forever drilling thru it

oh and I did use the 1/8" belt and the 1/8" steel but the 5/16 x 1 bolts are too short due to the thickness of the JD blower steel

humm well if you look at his drw it doesnt look like both would contact the housing, also if that was the case why not use 1/4" belting...If the long one only sicks about 3/8" past the paddle....doesnt make sense

wow was (actually still am) down with the flu!

I staggered the two pieces so there was more flex, 1/4" reinforced rubber will not flex... This allows you to get a tighter fit, you will see what I mean when it rotates...

I used a 1" bolt but if your paddle is bent or bowed (most are) you might need a longer bolt, to get the threads started. (A long bolt provides no problems as it is on the side of th epaddle that does "nothing"

I went out today (40F here) and did a 10,000 sq.. ft. drive that was 100% slush, not a clog and a pretty good throw!

NICE!

well mine is flat but its about 1/4" thick, then you have 1/4" of belting, 2 flat washers...well
I have the longer pc touching the housing ( barely) but the shorter pc doesnt, if i slid it out so the shorter one touched they would be the same length....I had to grind a small half moon out of the rubber because it wouldnt clear the one carriage bolt head in the housing. again it rubs the whole time but the shorter on doesnt do a thing
