Welcome to the forums! You've found a great place.

As to your question, I'd say no, the engine is fine.

Drain the tank and pour in some fresh gas. I may take a little time to get it running, but I think that the oils in diesel fuel actually will do the engine some good, as far as lubrication.

Yeah it should have hurt it. Worse case it would foul out the plugs. But as dj2cohen said just flush out the tank, put fresh gas in and spry some carb cleaner in there and then let it run for awhile and you should be fine.

I think the only problem you will have is the spark plugs. These will foul really quick on deisel. I wouldn't bother cleaning the carb. But if you can, drain the carb, it will startup faster when you refill with gas.

I had someone bring me a mower to fix one time and it turned out that the person put gas into the oil filler:bonk:  :fing20:
That must have been my brother-in-law. I caught him putting oil in the power steering pump on his car. He said that the dipstick still read low but it ran out the fill tube when he tried to put more in. What a dingaling.

When I was much younger, during high school, I had a '55 Merc. Just for "fun" once I put about 5 gallons of Diesel with 5 gallons of gas into the tank. The car actually ran on that mix. It would not rev past 3000 rpm foot to the floor. It belched black smoke out of both tail pipes and smelled like an old city bus.

I agree.. might have fouled a plug.. but was heavilly 'medicated for pre detonation... remember... with the proper vaporising carb.. you could run distilate, tvo, kerosene, etc.. on an 'AN' machine.. IE.. 8NAN.. so no.. diesel didn't destroy it..
