The ribs on the Deestone are more like a wheelbarrow tire. Take a look at both mounted, and there is no comparison - The V-61s are worth the money.
Thanks Bob for your comments and pictures. Your point above is exactly what I am debating. I agree the V61's look better, but is their actually any performance difference for double the cost. To steal an image from Glockem's thread, here is a pic of the V61's installed;I do like the looks of the V61s, but I doubt they really make any actual difference.

The ribs are certainly wider, as their are fewer of them, but I don't really think they are substantially deeper.
