I was debating on getting a new tractor next summer, of the newer model cubs which are the better models and which should be avoided?

It depends on what you're looking for, and what your needs are. Is it going to be just a mower? If so, what kind of property are you tending with it (size, terrain type)? And if there are other tasks it will take on, what will those be?

Right now, the only tractors Cub is offering are the 1000 (LT) and 2000 (GT) Series. We recently got in our spring shipment of 1000 Series, and I was surprised to find that they are phasing out the Courage engine on a lot of models, in favor of the less problematic Kawasaki.

I have gained a considerable amount of experience with the 1000 Series over the last few months, and I can tell you that you get what you pay for. Not trying to say they aren't good for their intended purpose, but they aren't designed to take the abuse the 2000 Series are. The 2500 Series is gone now, replaced by the GT2000 GT2100, and GT2154LE.

I currently own a LTX1050 and use it for mowing, sweeping, and snow removal. its a good machine if you are on a buget. If I had the money at the time I would have bought a 2000 series.

This maybe the best thing they(cub cadet-mtd have done in a while)I really like the kohler command and magnum. But how does this kawasaki compare to the low end kohler courage.Kawasaki has a good reputation but so does kohler and they had to come out with the 'courage' to compete with todays throw away market? So did Kaw come out even cheaper and the brains at mtd jump on it?(still wish they keep the 3000's series)
All that i have seen some CC 1000's with courage engines last.

If you run a Courage side-by-side next to a Kawasaki, you'll immediately notice how much easier the Kawi starts and how much smoother and quieter it runs. At the shop we have yet to replace anything under warranty on a Kawasaki as far as major engine repairs go, while the Courages have had multiple issues - which is why I think that Cub is steering away from them. Warranty claims on the Courage single cylinder engines are killing them.

I pretty much, mow 2 acres or level but lumpy yard. I would a tractor for mower and plowing.

As In Plowing Your Talking about a front Blade Correct Because as It stands Right Now if it's The Other The Cub 2000 series Currently doesn't Have a OEM sleeve Hitch Made for It But for Mowing and snow removal as of right Now the 2000 series would Be Great for those Jobs. Once they Finally Have a New Hydraulic driven Tiller for the 2000 series My wife Plans On Trading Her 2002 Cub 2206 on a 2000 series Cub Probably a GT2100:thThumbsU

Yeah it would be a front plow. I would be hauling stuff around but that shouldnt but much of a problem for most tractors.
Are the new Kawasaki's electronic fuel injection or am I still dreaming? I love the idea of no choke.
