Cub Original

Hello Cubbies,

I am thinking about purchasing a cub original. Wondering what a fair price is for it. The guy sent me a bad photo and should be sending a few more in the next few days. He said it was his dads and was purchased new way back when. Said it was belt driven.. that is what leads me to believe it is a cub original.
It is in fair shape and has a 7hp kohler, not original to the tractor but also has the original. Has not run in several years.
No Fenders. Looks to have the emblem and hood ornament. Has wheel weights in the rear and a deck on it.

Also looks like it has the slot on the side of the dash tower for the creeper gear?? But dont think it has creeper. Hood looks to be straight and the grill looks to be descent. At first glance lets say its a 6 out of 10.

Fair price?

His bottom line is 250.00.
I am not familiar with the cubs. Does that sound high ?

If it was within 100 mile of where I live and if it is in fact a original, I would buy it in a heart beat. Good luck with your decision.

I will post pics as soon as i can. Has to be an original if its belt driven.. is that correct? No decals, it has been painted over at some point years ago.

Sounds like a decent deal to me :fing32: I paid $200 for my O with no deck or any weights in not running condition.

That's a good price, for sure. Pics should tell us something more definite, but a running O with deck and weights for 250? Yah, I'd be on that

Here is a photo of the cub.
Can anyone tell me if the red circle is where the frame usually cracks?
Please give me the good the bad and the ugly on this thing.

Looks like it has the 3pt too at least the lift arm and the upper arm on the rear. That is where the frames crack as far as I know. Mine has a small hairline crack at that spot. Go get it already :fing32:

Where is it I'll buy it. Only kidding.$250 is a great price. weights are worth 100 to 125. 3 point 100 to 150 Running tractor alone is 250.00. By the way I think that's a 62 or 63. That semi circle is for the steering box adjustment slot.
