I sucked up the first round of fall leaves last weekend (rain all day today) and as you can see from the condition of the Cub, my property has areas where there is more dirt than grass. The good news is that the 2550 & bagger does a great job with the leaves – it just vacuums the lawn. The bad news is that I hooked a tree again (I just can’t keep from doing this once a year); another bracket for the bagger is on order. Yes, I did wash the tractor.

That's quite the dust coating. Looks familiar. You must have looked like Pigpen when you were done (I do). Did you wear a respirator mask?

My yard has very sandy soil and also produces a lot of dust both when I mulch and when I use my cyclone rake for leaf pickup. Totally coats me, the tractor, the house, the cars, probably the neighbors' cars, kids, etc.

I find I have to use a respirator, eye protection and earmuffs. I look like a hazmat cleanup guy. Those are usually two- or three-shower days.

Toolin, have you ever scared the neighbor's kid's in that get up? or have they ran and told there parents that theirs an alien next door?

Naw, actually the neighbor's kid is 2 and likes machines.. his dad has to hold him back so he doesn't run up to the tractor while I'm mowing. He's cute.. he's got one of those play push mowers that he pushes around while his dad uses his (real) push mower.

Guess it's not till they get older that they learn how to recognize an oddball.

10-4 on that air filter, slkpk, it’s amazing that the Kohler even ran before I cleaned it. Should have checked the RPM before, it probably picked up a few afterwards.

Yup, just like Pigpen, not so cute though. Thankfully this summer has been plenty wet enough, so it's not usually that dusty. We got a lot of rain this weekend so picking up leaves this week should be much cleaner. Between that and cleaning out the flower beds, there is plenty to do before I mount up the blower for the winter. I do love fall and the changing of the seasons though.

What I really need to do to get out of the dirt is to bring in topsoil and re-seed a good chunk of the yard, a 300’+ strip along the edge of the woods. Maybe I will tackle that next summer.

Looks like mine did. I cleaned it up over the weekend. I yanked grass off the top of the deck for 15 minutes! Bu then again the last cutting was in like 3 feet of grass.
