Have a 102 and I leave the clutch out and it rattles but won't move. Now the shaft to the rear turns but no movement, now if it's turning enough to move it, I don't think so. Was told it needed a clutch. Actually it tries to move like just creeps along for about 1 foot but then nothing. Motor has to be pulled,,,,right?

You say that the driveshaft turns but no movement and you also say (this is the part that I don't understand) "now if it's turning enough to move it, I don't think so."

If the driveshaft isn't turning "with" the motor or if it isn't turning the same speed as the motor, then yes it's probably the clutch. If the tractor is in gear and the shaft turns, then it should move... If this is the case, check the spiral pins in the rear coupler.

Whatb I meant was, if the shaft is turning,,,it should move. All it does is moves for about 1 ft. or so. And most of the time it when I first leave the clutch out.
