I just bought a used 3184 cadet and decided to go over the whole tractor before putting it into service so far it seems like the reverse is really slow and sometimes hardly moves I printed the manual but does not give any reference to this, is there an adjustment for this or a shop manual for a fix.

Thanks

There is an adjustable link under the right running board. It consists of two shafts with angled pins at each end. The shafts are bolted together with two hex head bolts in a slot. The first thing to check is that the shafts are straight and the pin ends are at 90 degrees to the shafts. The adjustment is made using the two bolts. It is touchy and you will probably have to tweak it several times before you get it the wy you want it. Look at this diagram.

The links are numbers 46 and 47 near the lower right corner. Also check the two nylon flange bearings, item 41. If they are worn, replace them.

Good luck
