Cub Cadet 3000 Front Tire Options

725 Views 13 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  Joelk
I've got Kenda Bearclaw ATV tires on the rear of my 3235 and they are pretty good in the snow but I have regular turfs on the front tires. They tend to slide sideways a lot when plowing. It's easy to find aggressive rear tires but I don't see a lot for aggressive fronts. Anyone have ideas or suggestions?

Maybe some front wheel weights could help

Here is another very open tread and won't make it look like a 4x4.
This is the one Pa318Guy has on his JD.

See if a set of Carlisle snow hogs will fit it:

They make them in an 18×6.5-8. My current tires are 16×7.5-8. I should be able to stretch them an inch I'd think?

Do you think I'd be able to stretch them an inch to fit Bill?

Yes, it's just the sidewall. You may need a bead blaster or a ratchet strap to push the bead out.

You will be fine, stock rims a only 5" wide.

Tires came today. Mounted them myself just using two tire irons. They went on easy. These are definitely more narrow than the turfs which is probably a good thing in snow. They might be a hair taller but they don't really look it. I need to buy an extra set of front wheels to mount the turfs on so I can do an easy swap from winter to summer tires.

Can you do a front shot to show width?
Here they are from the front. The turf tire is obviously deflated so it looks wider than it would be on the machine but regardless it is still wider than the Snow Hog.

Do the 18 x 6.5 Snow Hog tires rub at all? If so, where?
