I have a cub cadet 1720 which I purchased 3 years ago in good shape. Paid 400 bucks for it. I recently went to cut grass with it and it would start but wouldn't move. Checked the tranny fluid and belt they were fine. Any ideas? Worth fixing? Part out? Got my eye on a snapper 33 inch hi vac

As discussed many times on here before the trans on that series was very light duty.Worth a look at the belt and fluid level but they tend to strip the internal gears.I have replaced gears in a few, parts are cheap even at the dealer if your up to pull it out.

Good Luck, Bob
No doubt (in my mind) the 1650 is the tractor to put your time and money in:thThumbsU.They have their own weak spots but overall much better machine. The 1650 is a true garden tractor where the 1720 is a lawn tractor.
