Cub Cadet 129
Hey guys i am new to this site and as a new home owner i am looking for my first tractor, i have about 1 acre of land to cut. i am looking at a Cub Cadet 129, is this a pretty good tractor for a beginner? is there anything that i should be looking for as far as wear and tear goes? thank you

The 129 was built by IH between Sep 1971 thru Oct 1974. They are very strong built tractors.
Since these tractors are 35+ years old, it would be prudent to expect some repairs. The amount of repairs depends on who owned it in it's life and the level of care and maintenance that was given to it.
You can't buy a GT today with a solid frame, cast iron rear end and front axle. The Kohler K series motors are a true work horse .....tried and true.
Parts are still available for both the tractor and motor.

Great info thank you very much, i was told it was rebuilt a few years ago and it has a mower deck, snow blower, tiller and a plow, i think he is looking to get 550 for it. is this a good price?
It is not a good price - it is great price.
Look at the oil, run it around for a bit.
if it doesn't smoke,and no clanking, the engine is good.
The hydros are bulletproof.
All else is fixable.
I have a 127, came with a rebuilt motor, has a 48 inch deck. I did a bunch of work on it ( bearings in the steering box, greased everything, cleaned, and painted the deck all over and everything else). These are terrific mahines.
