I have a 2008 3200 with a 60 inch deck. The spindle drive belt keeps getting out of the groove on the center spindle. I have found it twice now riding on the edge of the pulley cutting the belt. Any ideas?

Is that the spindle that's fed by the idler pulley right next to it??

Is the idler post straight and tight??

yes thats the pulley -dead center of the deck. After it runs for awhile it looks like it slides down the idler and the walks off the pulley.

I have the 291 deck - if yours has a newer deck, perhaps it's different, but I can't image it's much different.

The "V"s run in the pulleys and the idlers get the back of the belt. The only way that I can see the belt slipping down is if the belt is loose so that the "V"s come out of the pulleys. Is the tensioner spring (on the idler on the other side) connected? There should be plenty of tension on the belt to keep it in the grooves. If the belt is loose at all, it isn't right.
