Ok, i didnt do this, really.....i got this from a girl that backed her moms van into, its an ariens trac-team snowblower, back then.....you could buy other attachments for these things, i wish i could find some! but she gave it to me for free, i took the blower on and magically put on a toro lawnmower i got for free, and added some casters too! i will be making other attachments too like a leafblower, a plow, and what ever else i can make!

sorry for the pics, it was getting dark out and this camera sucks!

They made quite a versatile machine! Thanks for the pics and good luck with yours. They are only belt driven with that friction plate set-up, so I don't think a plow would be a good idea. Have fun with it and be safe, Ed

The Trac Team Sulky looks like a fun ride and appears to be very versatile. Great pics!

I love My ariens! It will walk right through a snow drift! The original 7 HP had a bad rod so I got this 2007 engine off a blower at the scrapyard with bad friction drive for $20!!! Here is a thread on mine.
I have an Ariens snowblower with that friction drive. What a stupid design! About every second or third time I use that machine, I have to adjust or replace parts. :banghead3 That friction wheel doesn't last worth a ****! :Disgus:

Hmmm......I have a 16 year old MTD with friction drive and I finally got around to replacing the drive rubber just a few weeks ago. Never even saw what it looked like till then and NEVER had to adjust it either. it just got a little slower and didn't pull quite as well as it should. $13.00 spent after 16 years ain't bad a'tall. I used to do one driveway that was about 150 yards long. This machine was never babied. It has moved TONS of snow.

My ancient Ariens is acting a little tired... how do ya adjust the friction drive on it? (it's a 10000 series, Tec HH70 power)

On the 924xxx I have you prop the back off the ground so the wheels are in the air, lock the differential, spin the wheels and feel for them to bind while tightening the nut on the back where the rod from the handle enters the tractor body, then back it off 3 turns.

looks a lot like the newer DR interchangeable machine.

The friction disk has been around for a long time on numerous brand machines, it is even on the Snapper rear engine riders and I have not heard much of them going bad very often most of the time they will last 6+ years before having any issues (depending how much snow your area gets).

As for the ariens trac-team I have one I have yet to restore. I have the mower attachment and the snowblower, both sitting in my warehouse just need to actually go through with the restoring to bring it up to show quality.

Good info on your unit... it's a bit newer than mine (the 10,000 series ones):trink40:
