I had a yt3000, the hood is a little flimsy and the front wheels tow out unless drill a slot in the pitmen arm to adjust it. Other then that mine had a Briggs 21hp platinum (can be a bad eng) but is still going. Everything else is same as other craftsman’s that year range

IMO that's a good price - depends on the hours though. I've had good service with the Craftsman "brand" (depending on the year, probably made in the same plant with the Huskys and such) so if the hours aren't high and it runs well, it sounds like a fair deal to me.

If it's in good shape that's a fair price. I am fixing up a YT3000 right now. It's a good little machine. The original 21 HP Briggs blew up and was replaced by an older 16.5 HP Briggs that runs good. The YT4000 should have a 24 HP V Twin Briggs and Stratton. As mentioned the wheels tend to toe outward and the hood is a little flimsy but I would say those are minor complaints. They are made by Husqvarna and parts are easy to get.
