Howdy all

Well I learned to drive at 4 year's old on my dad's old Craftsman 12hp mower about 24 year's ago and i loved that mower so much i bought one my self last year. Now I just bought my first Garden Tractor It's a Craftsman II GT6000 #917.255930. Alway's wanted one finally found one near me and in my price range($140). It will need some work was one of those "ran when parked x-year's ago by an old lady in a barn".

Can't wait to start working on it guess getting it running of course would be step one. Then a oil and filter change of course.

I look forward to seeking advice and help in the near future from y'all.

Here's the pic from the seller i haven't had the chance to wash it or get my own Pic's due to rain and work but tomorrow i dive in

(Moved to right topic) :D

That's a nice Craftsman II!

I'm supposing that it has either the 18HP HORIZONTAL SHAFT BRIGGS AND STRATTON or the 20HP!

That will have the 18HP Briggs, No Oil Filter on those. I have two of these, 917.255919 and 917.255914. They are real work horses. I have links to the restores, just search for Hulk II or BOH, Brother of Hulk. Weak area is the steering sector. as long as the sector gear is good, then all you may need is the brass bushings.

For sure i believe he has a photographic mind he can tell/show you exactly how to start any of the tractor's or mower's he's rode on all of them have different procedure's. That's why i can't leave key's in them. :tango_face_surprise

Here's one for you. Old 80's GT with a 1960 Briggs 9hp rope start engine and a home made road grader blade. I bought it from a old retired tinker. He spent a lot of time building his home made road grader.
