Hey guys and gals. Bare with me:giggle:. I too have an issue with my neighbors Craftsman, she snapped the transmission belt. The mod.# is 944.609190 and for as many models Craftsman have this # does not show up in all my searches in an effort to find this lady a replacement belt....a tad frustarting to say the least. Could anyone please help me out here...much appreciated....and Thanks!!

+1. you should be able to measure the belt. Or take it to a regular hardware store (yes, where would you find one of those?). Most will have a belt measuring device. You only have to hold the ends together while measuring it.

Consider buying it from vbeltguys.com. Excellent service, super cheap.

Ser # is 061699D 002263, I'm sure that in the ser. # there is some way to tell the year of manufacture.
I will check the book when I get to the shop in an hr

Thanks for the quick reply(y)!! The issue with measuring is, that my neighbor isn't quite sure if the belt I have is it's 100% length. My guess would be that it is. This was broken two years ago and she isn't sure if it had been snapped/cut in just the one place.

Thanks for the info. The belt I have from the tractor measures 86-1/2" which leads me to believe that the belt may have been in two pieces. From what I can only assume, based on what info I've seen, is that the actual belt length is 95-1/2".
Here are a few pics..hope this will give you more insight as to this tractors belt lenthg requirement. Thanks again, your help is very much appreciated.

That AYP belt runs $6.44 or $9.44 (kevlar) from vbeltguys.com. The second belt comes up as a 1/2" x 95" belt from Lawn Mower Parts Search but not on vbeltguys. I'd call vbguys an ask.
Yeah i wish we paid the same as u guys do ..Free trade kinda messed that up ...those belts my cost are about 20 to 30 ...over the counter they go 40 to 50 up
..Those 2 belts I listed are right from my parts supplier for this machine it depends on what style he has they made 2 different belts I work on craftsman more then anything elase ..if he measures the belt then he would know ..
