I think a lot of old Briggs and Tecumseh's under 5 HP would bolt up and work..
But it'll probably be cheaper in the end to buy the Harbor Freight clone and adapt it--might need a new pulley and a few holes drilled..

I just noticed that HF,has a new 3HP 79cc,engine,looks like it might fit,it's an OHV,I'll check it out. On sale $99.99 plus a 20% off, coupon.

I*'m going to bite the bullet,and try one . I bought the#69733,for $86,including TX sales tax (8.5%),and using a "20% off" coupon. now to make it work.

Can we see 'before' and 'after' peekshures??? Is the model you got 'throttleable' or is it a 'fixed speed'?
Not that I have any idea of what is appropriate for an edger. Any concern for leveling and oil level being adequate?
