I have a 6430 suburban that came with a funky rear bag setup. I know this mower is supposed to have the side bagger/rod. My question is, is it incorrect for a mower like this (with the handle mounted pull cord) to have a rear bagger that connects to the regular side bag chute since the cord somewhat interferes with the bag? I attached a picture of the general stlye of bag my 6430 has although its not exactly the same. Also, anyone know the correct part number for the correct support rod for the 6430? Thanks!!!

I could be way off but i think some models just weren't designed with rear bagging in mind.

There are chutes with a cord eye built in to get the cord out of the way

You can see the eye barely on the black one in the top right of the pic
That chute on the right is the same that was on my 10323. You're correct, the pull rope went through the eye.

Awesome!! Thanks for the great info! Now that I have the part # one more question. Does the green chute work for both the big huge rear bagger like in my picture and the side bagger that is correct for the 6430? Thanks again!

Front chute is the same. The rear bag is about twice the size of the side bag, and this may be why its on there.

Best wishes,

Not to hi-jack the thread and slightly switch the topic, but....

Does anyone know what part # his rear bagger would be.

I have a 8401 that has the same set up and my bag is getting worn and could use fixing or replacement. It is wearing where it attaches to the mower and grass catches on the gap. I was thinking of taking it to the shoe repair guy to see what he could do.

The rear bagger for the R7268 will work.
I think that the gas tank will interfere with a rear bagger on that model.

It would be interesting to see pictures of a correct rear bagger for a 8401.

Mine has that exact bag and did interfere with the gas tank. I ended up making brackets and relocating the tank forward, up and over the drive assembly and right next to the shroud. At least now it does not clog with grass as easily. My icon shows the "stock" location. I didn't quickly see any pictures that I could post.
