Has a very healthy ripcord pull and sounds like its just about to turn over. Could this be a dirty carb? or something more? i haven't pick it up yet, but i want it.

Not unusual for the coil to go bad on the duraforce motors.

I vote coil also. I have replaced several on Dura forces

I replaced two DuraForce coils alone last year. Sounds likely. That or dirty carb or even old gas.

try some starting fluid first pull the spark plug check it first then shoot a good shot of starting fluid in spark plug hole replace plug and try to start it second make sure the wire coming from the coil does not have any bare wire rubbed thru where it comes down from under the cover
