Cold Starting my JD 3150

1234 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  oblygre
I live in Northeast Tn and in the winter months temps can dip into the single digits of the night and highs of a day in the 20s and 30s. Im wondering what kind of cold start mechanism do you all think works best and is reliable for still being able to start this big boy in the winter time? thanks

Engine heater is the best yes, but if there is no electricity there, other options must be present.
Here in Norway most JD have a diesel heater in the intake manifoil where the flame heats the intake air.
Also heatplugs directly into the combustion chamber are quite common, but I'a not sure if those are used on JDs.
