That is very cool. I had no idea Bercomac made a model for the 1K series Cubs. I hope it works out. That seems like an awful lot to put out front of a 1K, but it's no fun unless you push the limits, or better yet, someone else pushes 'em!!

Per specs, the 44" is 260lbs and the 48" is 310lbs. Yikes. I don't think the single stage JD ones we had over the years for our 110 and GT262 weighed that much.

That's a bargain for sure. I don't work far at all from Haymarket. Of course, there are plenty of 47" JD two stage blowers in that price range for the 318. And I can assure you those weigh every bit of 300lbs.

Good luck with the Berco, you won't be disapointed!

I have the Berco 44" Northeast on my Craftsman Pro YT, and I can attest that when it's attached and lifted, I certainly know it's there. I don't believe that it is too much for my Craftsman, but I'm nearing the limits of the machine. I imagine the first thing that would go would be the steering or front end. I am mindful of taking long trips with the blower in the lifted position. I don't really think it's too much strain on the K46 transmission, especially in the cold of winter.

Congratulations! You'll love it.

Got me something similar a couple seasons ago (see "blower" link in my sig). Mine is only 42 inches but close enough. And even though I probably only use it 5 times in a season it's still more fun than plowing, and beats the pants off of shoveling.

Would have been about a 10 hour trip to pick mine up too (well, round trip), but I decided to hire a shipper instead.. found one who'd do it for $100.. couldn't beat that. Bought it in the dead of winter so wasn't looking forward to that kind of drive at the time.

Not the easiest thing to attach and detach.. ugh. Shipping weight was about 250 lbs. Yours is bigger, so round up.

Definitely want to see pics as yours goes together, or at least the finished product!

Just un-crated and >>>>>>>>>>>>>

T-h-i-e-r 'Trippin'

Total weight will all mounts/drive is 235 lbs:fing32:

They either included the wood crate in total weight or used that figure to make more money in shipping:fing20:

So far, easy beans:thThumbsU
Subframe Mount kit took 30 mins....helps to have it a chest level on forklift :trink40:
Drive kit would install in minutes, but haven't yet as I still need the deck/bagger
4 bolt on plates, 2 support arms and the winch and your done, no drilling
Electrical wiring will be the hardest part as there is no easy routing

Blower to ground clearence /up = 5" on body / 4" on subframe
Still lots of rear weight with blower up, but deck is still on

Very nice, thanks for the pictures. You will love it! Once you have the brackets for the drive unit installed, it takes about one minute to install the drive unit itself (assuming the mower deck is removed). Installing the belts can, of course, be a PITA. The first time I put them on I routed the drive belt wrong off of the tractor pto. I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't blow snow! Took me a day to figure it out. For the belt to the blower I route it to the blower pulleys in front, then roll it on the big rear pulley. Set the tension spring and you're good to go!
