I'm checking things over on my "new" Pony. Today I checked the front wheel bearings to make sure they were packed with grease and properly tightened. The grease was fine but each one needed another quarter turn to be as tight as they needed to be. And of course they had the usual bent nail instead of a cotter pin. They are fine now.

Whew...glad you got that checked out. Can't have tractor wheels flying all over the place...lol

I'm OCD about fasteners and anything else for the sake of doing a job correctly. OK...so a nail was used in place of a cotter pin, but that's no excuse that something so cheap like a cotter pin isn't replaced after the next trip to the store. Missing bolts on panels is another pet peeve of mine along with proper nut & bolt washer lock washer config's. There's a reason for all this and to fall from the proper way of doing things is a sign of levels of intelligence.
