Hi everyone,im having problems with the starter on my 816.It zings but the bendix is no engaging. After about 10 tries i can get the engine started. It also kicks out after a few revolutions when it does work.It seems i have a starter and adapter that is not popular. The mounting bolts for the starter are at 12 and 6 oclock. All the starters i see have mounting bolts on the one side on ebay. There is a different looking adapter plate i saw on ebay i wonder if that will work.My engine is a ccka-ms/2111g .The parts key in the book is key 5.I see if you purchased a engine block it is a different part # just for my engine than the others listed.Flywheel looks fine.Any help appreciated -Don

the later starter you speak of was also used on the NHC engine
that is why it is more popular than the two bolt style
on your engine.
to use the later style of starter you will need an oil pan
and adapter plate from a CCKA MS 3110J engine.
thank you. boomer ( the used onan engine parts guy )

Hi boomer,Do you have the parts to convert it?I eventually have to do a ring job on it it guzzles oil.I may check to see if a starter rebuilder can overhaul it.
