I have a 12 year old CC7284 with approx 2000 hours on it. Even after applying the parking brake, it still shuts down when I exit the tractor. I am not very mechanically experienced but am willing to try to figure this out with a little help from my forum friends (if I take it to my local dealer it will sit there at least a month before they get to it). Where do I start to look? The manual talks about adjusting the parking brake. I did that and still the same result. Shuts off when I disembark with the parking brake on.
Thanks for any direction you can point me to!

I'd suspect a fault in the parking brake safety switch or wiring. Check that the pedal engages the switch, and that the switch makes/breaks electrical continuity.

Make sure the wiring connectors are clean and making a good connection.

Thanks much for the advice on checking the wiring connectors and parking brake safety switch. Yes I turned off pto before I got off the tractor.
I'll tackle the safety switch this weekend.
Thanks again!
