I was told briggs no longer sells parts for the early briggs cast iron engines looking for carborator parts for 16 hp engine . Where can these parts be bought ? Thanks
I just bought a whole carb for a 16HP Briggs (for a 3416) from small engine suppliers (part #391070). The one that came with the tractor was too far gone to be rebuilt. It cost more than I paid for the tractor but it doesn't leak, has all the revisions made to the body over the years and has a warranty.
I've always bought my briggs and kohler parts off ebay.
Pull your manual off the briggs website and find the appropriate part number. Throw that in ebay and odds are very good it'll be there.
The carb kit has a separate number and includes all the gaskets, the float needle, etc you need to redo a carb.
