I've been told, my Grandfather had and used one of these before he went to WW1. He also had one of the first Rumleys in that part of the country.
They set in the shelter belt and I played on them as a kid.
For anyone in the North East I'd recommend a visit to the Sloane Stanley Museum in Kent CT http://www.ctamachinery.com/FrickTractionEngineRestoration.html
Cama's fleet resides there and if you go to one of their public events, you might just see the Frick or any of dozens of other steam powered machines in operation, plus a lot of privately owned steam, sterling and hit or miss engines.
