Hello--Relatively new to the Case brand, now owning a 1981 222. Fixed a number of maintenance issues from previous owner(s) and it seems to be running fairly well at this point.

One issue I keep having though is that my tension adjuster for the mowing deck keeps loosening itself up. It looks like the corner of my mule drive has been welded (repaired) by someone at some point--is there supposed to be some gizmo or methodology to keep it from turning/unscrewing once it's set? It's possible I may be missing some part--

Thanks--

I had the same thing happening with my adjuster many years ago when it was still fairly new. I think it is just a combination of good lubrication and vibration. Set the proper belt tension and secure the T-handle with a zip-tie. Problem gone .....

Thanks for the suggestion, will do that.

My adjuster seems to have all the parts, judging by the manual for the rotary mower I found at the Ingersoll site. Would like to devise a permanent fix--wondering what Case's original logic was in this design, meaning what was intended to keep the key from loosening on its own. The washer and spring pin on the front aren't helping much. Hmm.
