Hello,

I have a 72' Raider 10 with an Tecumseh HH100 running on it currently. I acquired a K241 from a 60s model Case tractor and a wheel horse k241 crankshaft few years ago. I'm looking to rebuild this engine to replace the Tecumseh sometime in the near future because the parts are just becoming too scarce for the HH100. Other than that it is a fine running engine. Does the Case engine sound like a good transplant candidate? It has the old generator/starter combo instead of the separate stator and starter. Could this be converted or does the block lack the provisions? How about the holes for the PTO arm and such, can those be drilled and tapped? Or would I be better served sourcing a Wheel Horse block or complete engine and rebuilding it? Thanks in advance.

it will depend on several things.does the block use the wheel horse style pan or has the ears to mount a wheel horse style pan? i would probably look for a gear drive starter engine with the right pan or ears to mount the right one.
