Hi, I have a 72 case 444 with a weak pump. I also have a newer 446 parts tractor. The two pumps look different yet similar and I was wondering if you can interchange them.

I'm not a purist, so IMO, yes you can swap pumps. Since you are talking about goring from a 44x to a 44x the 'mount' size and rotation are the same.. There might be a difference i where the suction line and output attach to the pump, but generally the pumps are generic.

Okay, thanks, does anyone know how to change the hydraulic oil on it, it looks old and probably needs to be flushed.

Hydraulic drain plug is under the tractor on the main valve:

So should I got about draining it running or wait till all fluid has drained by itself, how would I get fluid back into the system without getting air in it?
