I have a 226 (83 I think). It has a little spit and sputter think going on no matter how I adjust the carb.It hasn't been running the smoothest but I have been able to use it. But then it started popping the fuse. I'm using a 15 amp fuse, I'm not sure if that is correct or not. I thought it might have been the ignition switch because it looked as if it had been getting hot on the back. So I took one off my 222 and it didn't make any difference. I can't find anywhere that it is shorting out, Watching the gauge makes me think it may be the rectifier. Is there a test I can do to see if it is bad. I'm not figuring the two problems are connected.
Any help would be appreciated.
