I have an '05 GT 5000 with the B&S 22 hp OHV ELS 725 engine. The craftsman Part # is 917-276210. I am looking for a carb rebuild kit...it won't run unless the choke is all the way out. Could you send me the kit# and/or the price and the shipping cahrges too?

Thanks

That engine came with a couple different carbs. 1 barrel & 2 barrel. Also the date code comes into play, with a change made in late 2004. That could possibly be the right age to be used on a 2005 tractor???
I's suggest going to the Briggs website and downloading the IPL for your engine so you cn determine which carb you have/
According to Sears, your engine should be- 40h777-0241

First, let me say thank you. Bill, you hit it right on the head...It is a 40H777-0241 and it is a 2bbl carb. There is only one adjustment screw and it looks like it would control the "max throttle adjustment"? And I already downloaded the IPL for it.
Thanks again!...I just hope the rebuild does the trick. Also, the carb has the word "Nikki" on it and a small B&S symbol and an "L" and an "R" on the same surface...not sure if that info was needed, but....
