i recently rebuilt the carb on my kohler k181s
the carb is cleaned out really good
but when trying to start it ,gas drips out of the choke plate area
i adjusted the float according to the manual and all seems good
so why it floods when trying to start it?
i didn't noticed any cracks anywhere
carb is a carter model N on a john deer 110
any help?

Did you test the float? The float won't float if it has even the tiniest pinhole in it.

i took the carb back off and took it apart and sitting in front of my monitor
i retested the float and it's good
it only floods when attempting to start the engine fully closed

Some carbs will flood a bit with the choke fully closed, its just the way they are..also the compression release on some engines holds the intake valve open ever so slightly to reduce compression wile starting, and the leakage blows back into the carb, and might make it spit a little raw fuel out..if you had an air filter on it,you'd never see this...
