Cannot find dimensions...
The blade brake on my 917.253580 42" deck (1978 16/6) is a worn out stub. I know from what's left of it that it is 1 3/8" wide but the length and shape of the business end of it seems to elude me.
Anyone have a picture of a good/new one? I suppose the end is shaped to the contour of the sheave it engages. The length of a good one would be a big help.
I know replacement brakes are available at around $15 but I have brake material on hand and making one should be fairly simple once I have a length dimension to work with.
