Good machine? Big/Small? What's a good price to offer?
Will it cut faster like a zero turn?

Thanks Guys

Kool!!!
It will cut faster than a lawn tractor, but it is not as fast as a ZTR.
It is the middle size articulated tractor.

I believe the smallest was the lawn keeper, then that one (forgot the name that ends in keeper) and then the estate keeper which was really big.

I hear good things about the articulated tractors.
The small one was the Lawn Keeper. The middle-sized one was the Estate Keeper. The really big one was the Grounds Keeper. Think very large and yellow with a front-mounted, 72" bat-wing mower on the GK.
Couldn't go wrong with a $100 offer, its worth that. Maybe he'd take it to just get it gone. Better not wait long. The steering cables are very worth having. I forget who on here mentioned that was a weak link in the keepers using the steering cable.
Everything I can find out about the Estate Keeper shows me nothing form the 90's. Only 60's and 70's. Is this a newer more modern model? This tractor is Bolens green and white, the others are yellow...any ideas?
That is a part of the frame steer series. I would definitely go for it. Especially with all those spare parts. I was the one who had mentioned that the steering cable could be an issue. It it's not routed right, it will fray and snap.

I'm a John Deere guy, but have owned Bolens in the past...I think I'll call the guy see what he has in mind...
I still can't find anything on this machine though...hate not being able to research something before I look at it.
Thanks Guys.
that would of been parked in the shed.thats a really clean looking unit.
Nifty. it says "great for parts" and "best offer"... so why not make an offer? go see. verify it can start and go (hydro is not busted), and that the deck is sound.

Mowing with that would be fun.
Brought it home tonight. It's in much better shape than I expected. Mower runs perfect, battery needs a charge, engine sounds great, oil leak is basically nothing. Will be digging deeper in the days to come...

ohhhh, and by the way, he took $175 for it.

Congrats! Sounds like you got a good deal. Good luck with it. Keep us posted and maybe a few pics.

I'll get some pics of it soon, the tractor is a model 966. Can't find a lick of info on it. Does anyone have any information about this machine?
In my experience, theres pretty much nothing around. You might try calling Sam's Bolens. He may have some info on them. I am still searching as I may be dragging one out of my grandparents yard in the future if I can talk them into letting it go.

OK, if I wanted to buy any parts for this machine...where would I look to first?
Try Sams bolens. He probably has parts. I remember my uncle getting some
parts for my grandparents frame steer a while back. I will find out where he got them from next time I see him.
