Yeah it is a bit cool looking I guess..have tried searching old restored mower photos, advertisements etc but no luck. I would say the paint is possibly original, might give a hint as to what it is? Reasonably keen on it but not if I can't get a head gasket or bits I may need to make it run again.Looks to me like its been sitting in that barn for a while. It turns over, and the seller says when you pull it over you can hear it sucking in air between cylinder and block...hence the blown head gasket...well I hope that's all it would be.

Yep, Pete (pcamore)is a good friend, went to his place last year on a "buying spree"..(he live 6 hours away). Need to see his mowers in the flesh, he does a beautiful, thorough job of them.

I have several similar to this one of Petes already, with "Iron Horse" engines which came in a variety of bodies. I have one restored one on here and a few others on Youtube under Ironhorsemal....one day I'll get around to doing some more!

This one I'm trying to identify is maybe not very common...tempted to just buy it but don't need another ornament in the shed....

Well I've taken the risk and bought it, not what I would call cheap but it is unusual, and well if it does run again it will be worth every cent.
Once I've picked it up and got it home I'll post some photos....I'm sure someone will be able to identify engine etc with more photos to go by...maybe its a Villiers/BSA/*** small engine?
Old mowers like this are pretty rare here in NZ, now I actually need to get some done instead of hoarding them...lol
Wish me luck!
