Calling all JD 3x20 owners who use the MMM:

The other day I test drove the Kubota B3030 with cab. It was not a satisfying experience. Therefore I am reconsidering the John Deere 3720 cab with 72in mid-mount mower. (I know that the B3030 and JD3720 have not only different price points but also have different weight.)

The task for the John Deere 3720 cab with 72in mid-mount mower would be to mow around the three ponds (1.5 acre, 1+ acre and 0.5 acre). Also I would order a PTO driven leaf blower to get the leaves away from the ponds.

My questions are:

Are you satisfied with your John Deere 3x20 with 72in mid-mount mower?

Would you recommend your John Deere 3x20 with 72in mid-mount mower?

Please help by sharing your experiences.

Thank you,
Regards,
FRIZ

You sound like you might be a candidate for a Ventrac...;)

The HP deck is a 72-inch mower which is offset to the left side 8 inches. This aids in mowing along ditches, ponds and trimming around obstacles, keeping the tractor on solid ground. The offset also makes for a smaller cutting radius increasing productivity.

and they have TWO different blower options...

The Ventrac would be great if it would come with A/C.
Thank you, Paul.

Note sure about the 3x20 series, but I have a 790 with a 60" gear cut MMM, it cuts like a champ and I can do a couple of acres in no time using just a couple of gallons of diesel. I do not have a bagging system for the leaves yet but am looking at different attachments.

The 72 inch is a great deck. I like the deere CUTs over the other brands. Deeres hold their value over time a little better and parts are everywhere.

Hey Friz sorry for not seeing this earlier and hope the info is still pertinent. I have the 7 iron 72" deck on a 3520 and to answer your questions, yes I am totally satisfied and you will not go wrong to add one to your (I think) 3720. The cut is superb. With the rpm's at about 25 hundred and in B range you can cut through ankle length grass at full pedel, about 6.5 mph. And leave a carpet like look behind. I also have a pond to mow around. The left side protrudes enough it can hang over edges without getting the wheels too close. Be glad to answer any specific questions you might have.

I never had any complaints with the 60" 7-Iron deck on my 3320. I went with the 60" since I was mowing around my yard and in places it's tight. But with big open spaces the 72 would be a dream. These decks are very, VERY well constructed!

I have the open deck JD3320 with 60 inch MMM and would
recommend it. 3 years use with no problems so far.

Welcome!!!
Mayor,

Tell me about it! It's ok though, there will be green again in a year or two and the next time around she's going to be a X728SE or something along those lines! :)

Maybe we can get you in a 2305 or 2320? :greendr:
Mayor,

I don't think I will be going back into the SCUT/CUT range it's just too big for here. My Dad wanted the 3320 more than I did.. I said hey lets go get it... But it was always too big. I don't need a backhoe and I can mount a FEL on the 700 series and it's diesel and 4wd so I think that's probably the route I will go.

BUT.... You never know.. My mind may change between now and then! :)
