Can a X700 series tractor have a bucket loader on the front? Or does one need a CUT for that? If that is the case what is the min tractor for a bucket and small back hoe?

John Deere sells a front end loader for the X700 series. I'm pretty sure that it will fit all except the 4 wheel steer model(s). There is no backhoe available for the X700's though.

The smallest current model from JD that can take a front end loader and a backhoe is the 2305, which some call a CUT, and others call a SCUT (sub-compact utility tractor). You can get one new with both already mounted for around $16,000.00 to $17,000.00 not including sales tax. There's a SCUT from Cub Cadet that's about the same size and cost for the same setup. Kubota makes one in that price range as well, their's might be a thousand more. I'm sure that there's other brands too.

Hope this gives you some Idea about a loader or Slip Bucket for the X700 series We even have a member here that modified a 45loader to fit his X729 or X749 which is AWS and 4WD. The Kwick-way backhoe for the older 425 thru 455 can be modified to fit the X700 series or older X400 and X500 series. :thThumbsU
