My ST 180 has a Briggs & Stratton V Twin. The Battery light stays lit when running. There is no evidence of charging when I connect my volt meter.
When checking the points I noticed one of the Magnets in the Stator for the alternator is broken. Could this cause the alternator to fail? What else should I check?
