I've accrued a few project tractors, and they all have 20/21hp B&S opposed twin I/C engines. Two are just "I/C Twin II", another is " I/C Twin II Plus", and another Twin II Diamond". I see another on-line that's "Twin II Platinum". What's the difference between Plus, Platinum and the Diamond? Does the Plus, Platinum, Diamond indicate increasing levels of quality or durability? The fact that the Diamond happens to be the one with an oil filter and full pressure lubrication makes me wonder...

check the model type and code.
Could be marketing too. I have two briggs vtwins with exactly same model type and year. One is labelled 18.5 HP , the other 20 hp, and both in very similar white outdoor riders.

Briggs was known to cheat the HP numbers to what the manufacturers want. This made them no long list HP but used torque number instead as the cannot be lied about so easily. Cost Briggs a lot of money in settlements do to law suits. May be part of the reason Briggs went under / went though restruturing. Roger
