Hi I've got a question concerning a Briggs 252417 type 00260 11 hp engine. This engine is installed in my Heald Hauler that I'm restoring just picked it up this fall. When I dissembled it the wiring harness was in bad condition so now I;m trying to rewire it here's the question coming from the alternator are 2 wires a red one and a black from what I can determine the red wire goes to the battery terminal on the switch and the black wire to the light switch anyone know if this engine is what Briggs called a dual alternator engine where the black wire going to the lights was just AC and the red wire was rectified DC voltage?

Hi G-1, thank you very very much that's exactly what I was looking for. Its like I thought but having a manual is nice. Yes its progressing nicely I've posted more pictures in the Motorcycle forum.
