Got a neglected push mower for free. I don't even bother cleaning or rebuilding these carbs anymore because aftermarket carbs are $10 and typically save me lots of time and headaches. That being said, this one is not the case. The seat on the original carb is so swollen the needle won't sit down far enough for the float to level and it looks awful at that. I have tried 2 brand new, aftermarket carbs on this thing and it still won't run on anything but starter fluid. The flow to the carb is like a river and there's plenty in the carb. PSI best is about 88. Does that sound about right? Sounds low to me. I'm befuddled and almost to the point of putting it in the scrap pile.

What else can I check?

Hello, and welcome!

I work on briggs and stratton mowers every now and again. Can you post a picture of it? I would need to see it before I could accurately answer your questions. Thanks!
